Why You Shouldn’t Learn the Aviva Method from Videos (And What Most People Don’t Realize)

Have you ever thought that the Foundation sections of the Aviva Method are too expensive, and it would be better to learn from a book or a video record?

It might seem cheaper…
It might seem convenient…
Pause, replay, practice anytime…

But when it comes to this method, that approach can be ineffective — or even risky.

So why are recordings not allowed?
And why is learning from a certified instructor so important?

Quick Answer

The Aviva Method is a specialized, individualized movement system that requires precise technique, real-time correction, and personal adaptation. Learning it without guidance may lead to incorrect execution, no results, or even strain on the body.

It’s Not Just About Copyright — It’s About Your Health

Yes, the Aviva Method is a protected and copyrighted system.

But the deeper reason recordings are not allowed is much more important:

👉 your safety and the effectiveness of the practice

Why Self-Teaching the Aviva Method Can Be Problematic

⚠️ 1. The exercises must be personalized

The instructor demonstrates movements from a healthy baseline.

But many women who seek this method may experience:

  • hormonal imbalances

  • pelvic tension or weakness

  • diastasis recti
  • spinal herniated disc
  • or want a baby

👉 These require adjustments and personalization.

In my work as an Aviva Method instructor, I often adapt exercises based on:

  • individual symptoms

  • cycle phase

  • physical condition

Without this, the practice may not bring the desired results…

⚠️ 2. Small details make a big difference

The Aviva Method includes:

  • precise movement patterns

  • activation of deep, often “invisible” muscles

  • stimulation of reflex points

These details are not always visible on video.

Even small inaccuracies can mean:

  • reduced effectiveness

  • or no results at all

⚠️ 3. Your body needs feedback — not just instructions

Understanding a movement is not the same as performing it correctly.

👉 This is something I see very often, not only in practice, but also in myself when I want to learn a new movement.

Even when someone knows the steps, the body may:

  • compensate

  • skip key details

  • or perform movements incorrectly

A certified instructor provides:

  • real-time corrections

  • guidance

  • and immediate feedback

This ensures the exercises are both safe and effective.

In My Experience as an Instructor…

Some women come to my courses after trying to learn the method on their own from a book.

They often tell me:

  • “I tried to follow the descriptions, but I wasn’t sure if I was doing it correctly.”

  • “I didn’t really feel the effect except for knee pain.”

And this is completely understandable.

👉 The book is a very useful resource — especially for those who have already learned the method during foundational sessions. It’s excellent for reviewing, note-taking, and deepening understanding.
But it does not replace guided instruction.

Even after I explain and demonstrate the exercises, and they clearly understand the correct execution, I still notice that:

  • They unknowingly put strain on their knees or lower back

  • Modify the movement to make it easier — but in doing so, make it ineffective

  • or miss key internal activations that are only visible to expert eyes.

👉 In these moments, the mirror becomes a good friend, and immediate correction is essential.

Without it, the exercise may feel easier… but it loses its purpose.

This is something I see again and again:

Even with the best intentions, learning from a description or video record alone often leads to misinterpretation or incomplete execution.

But after just a few guided corrections, participants begin to notice:

  • better body awareness

  • more precise and conscious movement

  • and significantly stronger effects

👉 This clearly shows how important personal guidance and real-time feedback truly are.

So, How Should You Learn the Aviva Method?

✔️ The best option: learn in person

This allows:

  • full attention from the instructor

  • personalized corrections

  • deeper understanding of your body

✔️ Alternative: guided online learning

If in-person learning is not possible, structured, live, and guided online sessions remain a safe and effective option.

👉 The key difference is:
You are still guided — not guessing.

Why This Matters More Than You Think

The Aviva Method is not just a series of exercises.

It is a way to:

  • support hormonal balance

  • improve pelvic circulation

  • build a deeper connection with your body

To experience these benefits, how you practice matters just as much as what you practice.

Quick Summary

The Aviva Method should not be learned from recordings or books because it requires precise technique, personalization, and real-time feedback. Practicing without guidance may reduce effectiveness or lead to an injury. Learning from a certified instructor ensures safety, accuracy, and better results.
