Ovulation is the release of a mature egg from the follicle.

Without ovulation, there’s no egg available for fertilization, so getting pregnant naturally is not possible. This is the most obvious reason ovulation matters — but it’s not the only one!

Why? Because ovulation is what triggers the production of progesterone, a hormone that balances estrogen and supports many aspects of women’s health.
